Lydia's Song..."Can You Hear The Orphan Cry?"

Lydia has been playing the guitar and "sangin' for a couple of years now. She wanted to write a song about the orphans, so she and I sat down a couple of nights ago and wrote this song. She is so excited about it, she wanted to share it. You will be able to tell very quickly that we are not a professional studio (ha! ha! ha! ha!---that is worth several laughs), we just have a microphone upstairs set up for Caleb and Lydia's "garage band" (Caleb plays the electric guitar). Hopefully you will hear the message (and a precious heart for the orphans) in the song:

147 million strong, an army of the very young

Can you hear the orphan's cry?

No weapons for them to use,

Their lives are shattered and abused,

Can you hear the orphan's cry?

You can make it right,

You can save a life,

Show them the way!

No one knows their name,

Lost in a foreign place,

Show them the way!

Pure religion is this,

Help the orphan in need,

He says, Whatever you do for the least,

You do for Me, You do for Me!

They are your sister and your child,

Longing to feel your warm embrace,

Now that you know, why hesitate?

God is speaking to your heart,

Get out and do your part,

Don't delay....why not today?

You can make it right,

You can save a life,

Show them the way!

No one knows their name,

They're lost in a foreign place,

Show them the way!

147 million strong....Can you hear the orphan's cry???

  5. I am sitting here typing this with tears in my eyes. I have been following your blog since I found out about what Lydia was trying to do. She is an AMAZING young woman. I love her passion for orphans.

This song is amazing, and Lydia is going to do amazing things in her life...she already is.

    You should be very proud!!!

  7. That was awesome!!! Great song and beautiful lyrics! I just found your blog last week and I am amazed at what Lydia has done! Our Pastor just happened to talk about divine burdens this Sunday too and he said "Be foolish enough to think you can do what everyone else claims can't be done." I immediately thought of Lydia. With God all things are possible and she is a perfect example of that!

  10. Lydia...I was at you house this past Saturday. I love the song! I'm inspired to see God work in young hearts. And I love the $100 for 200 for 2010. BELIEVE. God can do all things.

  11. Lydia you have inspired our girls (ages 11 and 9) to start fundraising and asking God to provide the money for us to adopt again--a little girl with Downs who we sought to adopt with our little boy but was not available. (You can read our story at www.childrenpreciousinHissight.blogspot.com)
We praise God for your faith and how He is working.
