Our Princess....3 more days!

I............
DON'T..........

KNOW...............

WHAT..............

I WOULD DO............

WITHOUT............

YOU!!!!!!!!!

Today was a gorgeous day......truly a gift of sunshine from the Lord! We spent ALL day outside. We hooked up 3 bubble machines, blew bubbles ourselves, danced, played music, and enjoyed our time together.....being absolutely covered in bubbles by the end of the day and not caring one single bit!

Hope has so much energy, it is difficult to believe she is in such need of heart surgery. Today was a tough day for me emotionally; I laughed one minute while dancing with Hope and then boo-hoo'd the next while cradling her in my arms. To everyone who has taken time from your busy schedules to stop by these last couple of weeks to check in on us, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your visits, your smiles, and your love for Hope have helped me more than you can imagine....you have been the arms of the Father to me....arms I have desperately needed!

Only 3 more days.....I can't believe it.

  1. I don't even know you guys but I love you all so much. Hope is such a beautiful blessing from God. I would hug each and every one of you right now if I could. My heart aches for you. I hope you continue to be strong for miss Hope. I pray with all my heart that her surgery is 100% successful and that the road to recovery is smooth. My whole prayers are with you.

  2. I, too, pray that the surgery will be a complete success and that Hope's recovery will be an easy one for her and the rest of you. I pray God will give her surgeons the skill and wisdom they need for this surgery and give Hope the strength to get through it with a miraculous outcome. I have followed your blog from the beginning, loving and praying for each of you. Wish I could be there to share in the hugs. I will continue to be with you in spirit and prayers. In His love, Lois

  3. Dear Lord, the Great Healer, I kneel before You,
Since every perfect gift must come from You.
I pray, give skill to my hands, clear vision to my mind,
kindness and meekness to my heart.
Give me singleness of purpose, strength to lift up a part of the burden of my suffering fellow men, and a true realization of the privilege that is mine.
Take from my heart all guile and worldliness,
That with the simple faith of a child, I may rely on You.

  4. I have been SO blessed by watching this journey. Thank you for sharing it with us. I hope the following can give you a little lift and encouragement.

25 years ago a little girl named Sabrina was born. She is my husband's sister. She has down syndrome. She was born with a heart condition that was "supposed" to take her life as an infant. 25 years ago she had an open heart surgery that she was not "supposed" to survive. 21 years ago she was diagnosed with asthma and had to wear a surgical mask everywhere. 20 years ago she went to school WITHOUT the mask. 14 years ago she started cheerleading for a private gym and for Special Olympics. 12 years ago (i believe) she went to Special Olympics WORLD games and medals in multiple sports. 10 years ago she started high school in REGULAR classes. 5 years ago she graduated high school NOT with a "certificate of completion" but with a HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. 4 years ago she started college at a community and technical college. 3 years ago she graduated and started working.

Hope CAN do ANYTHING. I have FAITH that God will show your family the same miracle that she has shown my husband's!

Also as a mother of a double heart surgery daughter (my DD had Tetralogy of Fallot / AV Canal / VSD / ASD / missing valves) my heart goes out to you. The worst month of my life was spent in the CICU of Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Looking back I must have been stupid or blind because there was not ONE day when the thought entered my head that she would not be coming home. I will pray that God allows you to SEE the future and hang on to that promise!

You have prayer warriors in Kentucky! MANY hugs!
